Mt. Helix Academy 7th and 8th graders recently competed at the Greater San Diego Science and Engineering Fair (GSDSEF) and their results were amazing!

All MHA 7th and 8th graders created and submitted projects at school. Of those, 14 were selected for submission to the semi-final round, as judged by GSDSEF, and incredibly all 14 were selected to move to final judging at Balboa Park. The results were:

4th Place Award Winners – Aneesh S., Cody T.
3rd Place Award Winners – Michael R., Kira F., Giulianna P., Robert P., Isabel S., Joseph M., Zander B.
2nd Place Award Winners – Zachary G., Madeleine S., Arthur H.
1st Place Award Winners – Bryce M., Ryan S.

In addition, Aneesh S. won a Price-Pottenger Nutrition Award for his project on GMOs, Bryce M. qualified as an alternate for the California State Science Fair for his project on mechanical autopilots, and Ryan S. fully qualified for the California State Science Fair and the Broadcom Masters National Online Science Fair, which only accepts those who placed in the top 10% of their countywide competitions, for his project on factors affecting vitamin C content in broccoli.

What an amazing representation for Mt. Helix Academy and what a testimony to the quality of instruction our students receive.
