Milestones celebrated for three Mt. Helix Academy teachers

At a recent all-TIEE staff event held at the Coronado Recreation Center three Mt. Helix Academy teachers were celebrated for their length of service. Suneeta Cohen and Ellen Foggiano have taught at Mt. Helix Academy for ten years and Trish Gallagher has taught for 20 years.

Ms. Cohen has taught in Mt. Helix Academy’s Jr. High, specializing in the teaching of math and science. Well-liked by her students, her efforts with 7th and 8th graders have paid off in numerous Science Fair awards.

Ms. Foggiano began working for TIEE at Mt. Helix Academy as a substitute teacher. She soon became the full-time teacher of Mt. Helix Academy’s fourth graders has taught the Transition Kindergarten class since its inception. Her students are eager and well-prepared for transition to Kindergarten.

Ms. Gallagher has taught just about all Primary and Elementary grade students at one time or another. Currently, she teaches 3rd graders. Her high standards and teaching excellence have garnered her many accolades.

Teaching excellence is a hallmark of TIEE, including Mt. Helix Academy, and this is in large measure due to the example set by its exceptional senior staff members.
