On-time drop-off procedure for K – 5 students
Enter the school property from Severin Drive onto the driveway at the back of the building. Drop students off at the gate to the playground. After dropping students off, drive behind the back of the school and exit along the east side of the building.

On-time drop-off procedure for Middle School students
Drop off Middle School students in front of the Middle School Annex. Students will go directly to their homeroom.

Early and late drop-off procedures

Early drop-off procedure for all students
From 6:00 a.m. until 7:45 a.m., all students should be dropped off at the front of Mt. Helix Academy. They are to enter the main building via the east entrance and go directly to the Activity Center, Room 20.

Late drop-off for all students
Because of the need to monitor student whereabouts, students who report to school after 8:00 a.m. must first report to the main office, check in as “present” for the day, and obtain a classroom admission pass.

Healthy and safe activities encourage a life-long commitment to fitness.

Pick-up of students at the end of the school day
Dismissal times:
Kindergarten – 2:45 p.m.
1st Grade – 2:50 p.m.
2nd Grade – 2:55 p.m.
3rd – 5th grades – 3:00 p.m.
Middle School – 3:15 p.m.

More than one child at Mt. Helix Academy
If you have more than one child enrolled at Mt. Helix Academy, the younger child(ren) will be dismissed at the same time as the oldest.

Students will be dismissed from the gate behind the main school building.

To pick up students, enter at the rear of the campus from Severin Drive and exit along the east side of the building. In order to keep the traffic moving as quickly as possible, please arrive at your child’s dismissal time, not before. If you must arrive before your child is dismissed, either park in the lot or continue to circle around the building until your child’s dismissal time.

Call the office before early pick-up
Except in case of family emergency, we ask that parents call the office to inform the school before arriving to pick up a child prior to school dismissal for the day. If we know the time you are expected to arrive we can have your child ready to be picked up.

Early pick up must occur in the front office
Your child must be picked up in the front office. When you arrive at school, please sign and record the time in the Sign-Out Book. If your child is not yet in the office, school personnel will bring your child to you. Parents are not permitted to go to their child’s classroom to pick up the child.

Late pick-up of K-5 students starts at 3:15
At 3:15 p.m., K – 5 students not picked-up will be sent to Childcare in the Activities Center (Main building, Room 20), where they can be picked up as late as 6:00 p.m.

Late pick-up of Middle School students starts at 3:30
At 3:30 p.m., all Middle School students not picked up will be sent to study hall in the Middle School Annex where they can be picked up until 4:30 p.m.

Picking up Middle School students after 4:30
At 4:30 p.m., Middle School students will be sent to the Activities Center (Main building, Room 20) where they can be picked up as late as 6:00 p.m.

Which entrance to use depends on the time
Until 4:00 p.m., use the main entrance to Mt. Helix Academy to pick up your child(ren) from the Activities Center (Room 20).

After 4:00, the main entrance will be locked and you must obtain entrance to the building through the east door. Security demands that this door is also locked, so you must either ring the doorbell or use the key fob that was assigned to you by the school.

Rainy day drop-off for K – 5 students
If it is raining at the time you arrive to drop off your child, please do so at the front entrance of the school.

Rainy day drop-off for Middle School students
If it is raining and you are dropping your child off before 7:45 a.m., do so at the front entrance to the main building. If it’s after 7:45 a.m., Middle School students should be dropped off at the Middle School Annex.

Rainy Day Pick-up
If it is raining, K – 5 students will be dismissed at the front entrance to the main building and Middle School students will be dismissed at the Middle School Annex.

After 4:30 p.m., all students should be picked up at the main building.

For safety and efficiency in the rain, please enter the campus via Howell Ave., proceed to the main building entrance, allow your child to enter your vehicle from the passenger side, and then exit the parking lot via Severin Drive.

Parking at Mt. Helix Academy should respect our storefront neighbors. Please park directly in front of the Mt. Helix Academy building or in the center spaces of the parking lot. Please do not park in front of our storefront neighbors.
