Full-Day Program
Full-day program for students with many needs
AIM HIGH’s Full-Day Program is an academic and school skills program designed for good kids who have gotten significantly behind in academics, who may be disorganized and have difficulty with self-management, who haven’t been taught the skills essential to being a quality student, and who would benefit from direct instruction in effective social skills.
Aim High Instruction
AIM HIGH’s Full-Day Program provides individualized instruction in all subject areas for primary, elementary, and middle school students. The goal is to help each student learn as efficiently as possible and to transition, when appropriate, to the regular Mt. Helix Academy program. All skills are taught individually or in very small groups of students who are at nearly the same skill level so that we can maximize student success. We teach skills to mastery and then develop fluency in foundation reading, writing, and mathematics skills.
Teaching of important student skills
Instruction is not limited to academics, but includes direct teaching of self-management, organization skills, social skills, and other skills necessary to be a successful student.
Superior methods for integrating students
Most students who are enrolled in the AIM HIGH Full-Day Program are able to participate with their age mates in many of the rich variety of classes and activities offered at Mt. Helix Academy, including academics, visual and performing arts, computer technology, physical education, and other classes.
Aim High teachers work closely with teachers in the regular program to insure that AIM HIGH students will be successful in their mainstreamed classes. AIM HIGH conducts mainstreaming of its students so well that Mt. Helix Academy received a commendation for its program by the California Department of Education’s Nonpublic School review team.
